Learn More May 2011Synergis Program Reduces Waste by 42% for SL Green Property Synergis provided the waste audit and tenant training to all tenants of this 200,000+ sf class A office property in the NY metro area. Waste was reduced by 42% through this process. April 2011Green Business Challenge Receives Award from Westchester County The Green Business Challenge, a program which Synergis jointly developed and manages, received an award for its efforts in educating and encouraging local businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve operational efficiency and save money. Introducing Synergis’ new Customer Service Representative – Joanne LawsonOur new Customer Service representative, Joanne Lawson, will be providing support for all of our client projects. Joanne will be coordinating garbage and recycling services at our client locations, as well as contractor bin requests. Come to the fourth breakfast event in an educational series – sponsored by Con Edison – designed to help your company, regardless of size, move down the path toward sustainability. The morning will include a panel discussion on strategies implemented by large businesses here in Westchester that can be embraced by any business large or small. February 2011Synergis contracted by SL Green to provide LEED EB waste audit for 350,000 sf NY metro area building. Synergis will be providing the waste audit component for the LEED EB certification of this Class A office building. Synergis contracted by SL Green to provide waste audits and improve recycling participation rates for 1.8M sf multi-tenant office properties in NY metro area. Synergis will be working with tenants, janitorial staff, and property management to improve material sorting and recycling participation in this fourteen building project. January 2011Synergis recycled over 1.2 million pounds of construction material in 2010, saving our clients over $82,000. Our 2010 construction debris recycling program supported LEED projects, and reduced greenhouse gases by over 330 metric tons, while saving energy and conserving our supply of natural resources. Synergis provided recycling collection and marketing services for 80,000 sf of commercial carpet tile and raised flooring, as part of a LEED office renovation project. 162 tons of material were recycled. November 2010Mastering the Westchester Green Business Challenge: Landlord and Tenant Best Green Practices If you missed this workshop, you can view the presentations here. Synergis signs agreement with Colliers International to manage garbage and recycling services at The Shops at Waterford. Synergis will expand recycling services and reduce costs at this 125,000 sf shopping center. Composting service will also be added for restaurants. Synergis increased recycling by 75% at Reckson/SL Green office property in NY Metro area. Synergis provided program review and training to all tenants of this 200,000+ sf class A office property in the NY metro area. Three months after the training, tenant recycling had increased by 75%. October 2010Synergis saved client over $29,000 in disposal costs on recently completed 80,000 sf office furnishings reuse/recycling project. Synergis reused or recycled 85% of the 204 tons of furnishings removed from this 80,000 sf office. The project was completed under budget, and saved over $29,000 compared to traditional disposal costs. September 2010First Westchester Green Business Challenge workshop September 29 at CW Brown’s new LEED headquarters. If you missed this workshop, you can view the presentations here August 2010Synergis contracted on 80,000 sf LEED office renovation to reuse or recycle 600+ cubicles. Synergis has been contracted to reuse or recycle all the office furniture as Phase 1 of an 80,000 sf LEED office renovation. We will be donating usable cubicles to non-profit organizations, and selling and/or recycling the balance. July 2010Westchester Green Business Challenge receives $20,000 sponsorship from ConEdison. Synergis contracted for Phase 2 of program development. Synergis renewed our contract with the Business Council of Westchester for the Westchester Green Business Challenge. Phase 2 will include educational workshops, outreach to local business and industry groups and development of customized scorecards for landlords, tenants, owner-occupied facilities, and home-based businesses. June 2010Introducing Synergis’ new Bay Area Site Representative – Melissa Baxter. Our new Site Representative, Melissa Baxter, will be monitoring all of our Bay Area project locations on a regular basis. A graduate of San Diego State University, Melissa brings an environmental passion to her work, along with extensive experience in waste reduction, recycling and zero waste. Melissa will be working with our customers to ensure a thorough understanding of the recycling programs, and to help keep their programs running smoothly. May 2010

March 2010Synergis signs agreement with Colliers International to manage garbage and recycling services at the Sand Creek Crossing Shopping Center. February 2010Synergis is now providing sustainability consulting to the Business Council of Westchester, to support their participation in the Westchester Green Business Challenge. Synergis now combines our waste reduction expertise with other local professionals to provide sustainability consulting services to area businesses and not-for-profits. Organizations benefit with lower operating costs and greener facilities. January 2010Synergis recycled over 1 million pounds of construction debris in 2009, including two LEED projects, while reducing greenhouse gases by over 270 metric tons. Recycling construction debris also saved our clients $25,000 compared to disposal costs. When these materials are made into new products – they save energy and conserve our supply of natural resources. Synergis renews Harbor Bay Landing contract – reducing trash costs by $56,000/year. Synergis renewed its contract to manage the Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center recycling and solid waste program. This 116,000 square foot retail and office center recycles 43% of its discarded material, and saves $56,000 per year on disposal costs. December 2009Synergis developed the newly launched Westchester Green Business Challenge at http://climatechange.westchestergov.com/. The Westchester Green Business Challenge was launched this month. Synergis developed this program for the Business Council of Westchester and Westchester County. The Challenge provides tools to local business to enable them to operate more sustainably and reduce their generation of greenhouse gases. 40 companies have already registered to take the Challenge! |
